MRAG Asia Pacific was contracted to review the effectiveness of The Pacific Community’s Coastal Fisheries Working Group (CFWG) in meeting it’s Terms of Reference and recommend options for a new mechanism to replace the CFWG to give effect to the Pacific Island Forum Leaders’ decision in relation to coastal fisheries. Based on the recommended model agreed by SPC’s Heads of Fisheries, the project also set out a costed implementation plan and associated systems and procedures to establish the new mechanism (including how it fit into existing regional frameworks).
