Under this project MRAG Asia Pacific worked with the Solomon Islands Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources (MFMR) to provide scientific observers to record catch composition and other data associated with field trials on the impact of different bait types and hook sizes on target and bycatch species in the WCPO longline fishery. The field trials were funded by The Nature Conservancy, undertaken in the Palau EEZ and coordinated with the Palau Bureau of Marine Resources (BMR).
