This project consolidated available information on FAD usage and management within the WCPO purse seine fishery, including FAD density and distribution, numbers deployed, FAD designs and tracking systems and ownership arrangements, analysed available options for the future of FAD management within PNA waters and recommended a proposed future course of action to better control and manage FAD usage as well as optimize revenues to Parties. The information supported the development of a proposed PNA 4th Implementing Arrangement for FAD usage in PNA waters.
